Presidential Candidates at the Dog Park (with poll)

Thu Aug 09, 2007 at 10:37:33 AM PDT

I do a weekly radio show on WRFN http://radiofreenashville.org called "The Politics of Dogs". For me everything has to do with politics and everything has to do with dogs. The quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink is decided by politics and my dogs breathe that air and drink that water. (I think they should be able to vote!)

A while ago I was in the kitchen cooking, with the TV on a CSPAN channel, listening while I cooked.

Some guy was being asked questions and damn, he had all the right answers - he was brilliant! Intelligient, articulate and very well spoken.

I turned around to see who it was, thinking "This guy needs to be our next President".

Sigh...

It was Dennis Kuchinich.

Update on FCC Visit to Nashville

Tue Dec 12, 2006 at 01:18:02 AM PDT

What an amazing day in Nashville! Check out http://www.stopbigmedia.org for the full schedule and details, I can't remember it all.

I didn't go to the morning session with all the country music stars, I went to the 5 pm session with all the suits. Man, what a lot of suits. There were very few of the big conglomerates there defending their need to take over more of the media but there were plenty in the audience watching.

Some of the panelist were show stoppers and the audience was one of the most diverse I have ever seen. The FCC looked a bit out of place in fact with their lily white faces.

FCC in Nashville

Tue Nov 28, 2006 at 04:57:21 PM PDT

The Federal Communications Commission, the group that decides who gets to own the media, is coming to Nashville on December 11th to hold a public hearing.

The testimony they hear will be used by the Commission when they decide whether or not to let big companies own more of Nashville's (and America's), media.

They aren't doing this out of the kindness of their hearts, mind you. They are doing this because of a court order.
